- Step in close
or use your cameras zoom to take a picture of your subject, excluding everything
else. These types of photos really make a greater impact.
- Try using natural light. Cloudy
and overcast days really creates the best lighting for pictures. When indoors,
turn off your flash and try using just the light coming in from windows.
- Try not to always have your subject
pose for the camera. Capturing people when they have no idea they are
even having their picture taken always proves to be the most interesting
photos.
- Shoot photos at eye level. This
works for pets as well as people. It creates a more intimate photograph.
- Placing your subject off to one side
of the frame (off-center) can make a more interesting photo.
- Allow children to take photos
with a one-time use camera.Let them take photos of what is important to
them and of each other. It proves to be a different world through a child's
eye.
- Take vertical pictures. Next time
you are taking photos make a conscience effort to turn your camera sideways.
All sorts of things look better in a vertical picture.
